Touring cars
STMCC offer touring car classes for the beginner right through to the experts.
Modified
Modified is the pinnacle of our touring car offerings. Motors are open to drivers choice and ESC boost is permitted. This is the place for experienced racers to show their skills with high powered cars.
13.5T
13.5T is our mid-level touring car class. Using un-boosted 13.5t brushless motors they provide enough of a boost in power over 21.5T to keep most drivers happy with the speed of their cars. A great place for experienced racers to drive or for the up and comers to continue learning.
21.5T
21.5T is our entry level and most popular touring car class. Using un-boosted 21.5t brushless motors this is a great place to start racing and to hone your racecraft. With low power motors they require smooth driving to keep the momentum going.
Junior Sportsman
Junior Sportsman as the name suggests is our new entry point for junior drivers. Using TC chassis to allow drivers to move onto the main TC classes later on. The class uses a BLINKY ESC and Control 21.5 motor. Gear ratio is limited to no lower than 3.8:1
Chassis: Four-wheel drive only allowed. Chassis must have independent suspension on all four wheels. Each driven wheel must have a flexible joint, eg: dog bone/s or universal joint/s in its driveshaft. Drive train and suspension design is free from restriction. Flat Pan (1/12th and 1/10th Track Style) chassis are not allowed. The Chassis must not be shaped to gain an aerodynamic advantage. In principle the underside of the chassis must be flat and parallel to the ground along the entire length of the body-shell. Aerodynamic shaped parts (splitters/diffusers/tunnels/etc) may not be fitted to the chassis.
Motor: Modified: Only Brushless motors approved by IFMAR, ROAR, EFRA or BRCA may be used.
13.5T: Any ROAR or BRCA approved motor. All brushless motors for the Stock class will be wind rating of 13.5 turns, clearly indicated by the manufacture on the external casing.
21.5T: Any ROAR or BRCA approved motor. All brushless motors for the Stock class will be wind rating of 21.5 turns, clearly indicated by the manufacture on the external casing.
Junior Sportsman: RCRA R1 V16 Control motor. These will be a handout motor supplied by the club.
ESC: Modified: Speed Controllers as per ROAR BRCA list.
13.5T/21.5T/Junior Sportsman: Speed Controllers as per ROAR BRCA list. Speed controllers eligible for Stock classes must provide zero timing advance, along with disabling advanced motor control functions (i.e. Boost, Cheat Mode, Turbo, etc). When the "0 Boost" profile is enabled, it shall be indicated by a blinking LED while the ESC is armed and in neutral position.
Body Shell: 4 door sedan style bodies are allowed that are currently on the IFMAR, EFRA or ROAR body listings, and fit within the GLOBAL BODY SPECIFICATIONS for electric touring cars.
Tyres: Rubber tyres only (24mm) Events use a Control tyre as listed in entry information.
Batteries: Any 2 cell Hard-cased approved 7.4 Lipo packs as listed on the ROAR or EFRA websites.
Gearing: Modified/13.5T/21.5T: Gearing is not restricted.
Junior Sportsman: Gearing is restricted to no less than 3.8:1
Weight: Minimum 1320 grams ready to run including transponder.
